Product Specification

1. WALL STRUCTURE - Construction shall be 100% fully welded. Entire wall mount structure shall be constructed of 2" square telescoping tubing. 1 ¾" extensions shall fit inside the 2" tubes to allow infinite "wall-to-backboard" distances from (48"-72"SuperMount46), (72"-96"SuperMount68), (96"-120"SuperMount80). Telescoping tubes shall be set screwed, then drilled and bolted in place at final assembly. Wall structure shall be designed to accommodate either fan-shaped or rectangular backboards. All mounting brackets shall be no less than ¼" thick and all hardware shall be grade 5 zinc plated. Structure shall be finished with black powder coat paint. Steel structure shall secure to (3) 2"x 8" wallboards made of Dense Southern Yellow Pine. Wallboards shall be routed on four sides and be covered with a clear coat sealant. Wallboards shall be attached to support wall with fasteners provided by installer. 800#, 3/16" proof chain shall extend down from top wallboard at a 45 degree angle to support steel structure. Chain tension will be made possible by means of a turnbuckle.

2. BACKBOARD - Backboard shall have perimeter dimensions of 48"x72" and be constructed of ½" thick tempered glass with an official white shooter's square and border and shall have a 5"x5" goal mounting pattern. Frame shall be aluminum extrusion held together in the corners by means of corner brackets that provide for industry standard 42"x62" tall board corner mounting. At the rim mounting location, glass shall be sandwiched between two cushioned steel plates. Rim mounting bolts shall pass through tubular steel bushings. Backboard shall meet all NCAA and National Federation of State High School Associations standards.

3. GOAL DESIGN - Goal shall be constructed using 5/8" diameter steel ring with continuous wire netlock attachment. Ring shall be the official 18" inside diameter. All backplate components shall be constructed of 1/4" thick steel. Goal shall employ Flush-Mountä construction. The backplate shall be punched for mounting to any backboard with no "below board" protrusion. Rims that do not include First Team's Flush-Mountä mounting plate design are not considered equal. The rim support brace shall be ¼" x 1 ½" steel and provide continuous support around 60% of the ring. The breakaway mechanism shall be of the positive lock design, factory preset. An automatic return shall be provided by means of a heavy-duty wire return spring, which shall also cushion the breakaway action when the pressure release setting has been exceeded. Two hardened steel balls shall be contained in a tubular assembly with each being forced outward with equal pressure by a detent. Said ball/detent mechanism shall provide proper breakaway pressure. All pinch points shall be eliminated for player safety. All components shall be coated with an official orange powder coated finish. A white nylon net and mounting hardware shall be provided. Rim shall be made in the USA.

4. WARRANTY - Entire system shall carry a Lifetime Limited Warranty. Shipping weight shall be approximately 513#.

Limited Warranty:

Covers any damage caused by normal basketball activity and normal player contact with the goal. "Normal basketball activity" and "Normal player contact" shall be described as any action that is necessary for participation in the game of basketball. Deliberate hanging on the rim, multiple player hanging, and vandalism are not covered under the Limited Warranty.
