RollaSport III Portable Basketball System
Product Specification
1. VERTICAL UPRIGHT - Vertical pole shall be one-piece 4" square with a minimum
11 gauge wall thickness. Posts with thinner wall thickness are not considered
equal. Post shall be secured to portable base by means of two 4" square zinc
plated U-bolts. Pole shall have a watertight vinyl cap to seal out moisture.
2. BASE CONSTRUCTION - The base is all steel construction comprised primarily of
3/16" and 11 gauge formed steel. The front of the base shall measure 30" across,
base length shall be 48" front to back. The ballast area (ballast not included)
shall be designed to accept (10) 4"x 8"x 16" solid cement blocks each weighing
30 lbs. (300 lbs. total). The unit shall ride on three 4" non-marking wheels for
easy "one person" portability. The front wheel shall be lowered to the floor as
the vertical post pivots backwards. The vertical post shall pivot backward by
means of a "Post Actuator" mounted on the portable base. Pivoting post allows
unit to move under any standard height doorway.
3. EXTENSION ARM - Main 45 degree extension arm tube shall be 2"x3" rectangular
11 gauge steel tubing and provide for a 24" extension from front of pole to face
of backboard. Extension arm shall be constructed to allow rim bolts to pass
through backboard and directly into extension arm for strength and player
safety. Extension arm shall be secured to vertical post by means of two 4" zinc
plated U-bolts. Additionally, two 1" round backboard braces shall support upper
corners of the backboard.
4. UPRIGHT PADDING - Unit shall be equipped with standard 2" thick foam padding.
Padding shall be secured to unit via velcro attachment. Padding need not be
removed during adjustment, transportation or storage.
5. FINISH - Powder coat black finish shall be applied to all surfaces.
6. BACKBOARD - Constructed of 1/2" thick acrylic with bright white screening.
The framework shall be constructed from clear anodized aluminum "L" type
extrusions. Overall backboard size shall be approximately 48" wide and 36" high.
7. RIM - Standard rim shall be of a flexible type so as to absorb the stress of
player contact. Spring action shall be provided by a heavy duty compression wire
spring. A steel coverplate must enclose entire internal mechanism. All
structural components shall be built of no less than 3/16" steel. Rim shall be
of institutional quality with an official 5/8"diameter high strength steel ring
supported by a 3/16" brace supporting 60% of the ring. Rim shall be punched to
mount either a 3"x 4" or 5"x 5" hole pattern. Orange powdercoated finish.
8. WARRANTY - Complete unit carries a Lifetime Limited Warranty. Entire system
weight shall be approximately 345#.
Limited Warranty:
Covers any damage caused by normal basketball activity and normal player contact
with the goal. "Normal basketball activity" and "Normal player contact" shall be
described as any action that is necessary for participation in the game of
basketball. Deliberate hanging on the rim, multiple player hanging, and
vandalism are not covered under the Limited Warranty.
